Hyatt’s online reservation system allows booking with the Hyatt Free Night Award and the World of Hyatt points or points + cash. This feature is only available on the web version and not on the mobile app. Here’s how:

Hyatt Does Not Offer 5th Night Free
First, I think there is confusion about the World of Hyatt program here.
Unlike Marriott 5th Night Free, Hilton 5th Night Free, or 4th IHG Reward Night Free, when you redeem Hyatt points for an award stay, the World of Hyatt program currently does not offer the 5th-night free benefit, so keep that in mind.
How to Combine World of Hyatt Points & Hyatt Free Night Award On One Reservation
The process to combine your Hyatt Free Night Award and points or points + cash to have just one reservation is simple, and you can do so with the following instruction:
- Please note that the functionality is only available on the World of Hyatt website via a computer desktop’s web browser.
- You must sign in to your World of Hyatt account first.
- Perform your hotel search to check for availability like you usually do. Do NOT check the Use Points option.
- Click on the View Rates button on the Hyatt property you are interested in.
- Make sure you are on the View Rates section, not the View Points section, and click on the Use Pay My Way link under the Book Now button.
- You are presented with options to book the room using a combination of the Hyatt Free Night Award and the World of Hyatt points or points + cash if available. See the screenshot below.
- Click on Select This Combination and follow the booking interface to finish your booking.

Once the reservation is completed, you will only have one reservation number. This is beneficial so that you do not need to leave a note or contact the property to ensure you stay in the same room during your entire stay.
Can you combine Hyatt Free Night Award with Points + Cash on one reservation?
Yes. The process is the same for combining the World of Hyatt points and the Hyatt Free Night Award on a single reservation. See the instruction above.
Can you use the Hyatt Free Night Award for peak season?
The World of Hyatt program fully implemented off-peak, standard, and peak award pricing, and the great news is that your Hyatt Free Night Award is not impacted by that. In other words, you can use your Hyatt Free Night Award to book properties in the hotel categories for which your award is valid, whether the stay is during peak or not.
For example, if your Hyatt Free Night Award is valid for redemption at a property in Category 1 through 4, you can still use that free night award even when the property requires more points for peak nights.
Can you use Hyatt Free Night Award for someone else?
If you are a World of Hyatt Globalist elite member, you can make a reservation and use your Hyatt Free Night Award for someone else. This is one of the Globalist benefits known as Guest of Honor.
If you are not a Globalist elite member, you can use your free night award to make a reservation under your name and add a second guest to your reservation for check-in. Please note this method is not officially supported by Hyatt because Hyatt Free Night Award is not transferable, and therefore, your mileage may vary (YMMV). You can always check with the property after you make a reservation to make sure.
Can you use Club Access Awards for Hyatt Free Night Award reservation?
Yes, you can. Hyatt Club Access Awards are valid on eligible paid rates, points, points + cash, and Hyatt Free Night Award redemptions.
Can you use Suite Night Awards for Hyatt Free Night Award reservation?
No, unfortunately not. Hyatt Suite Night Awards can be applied to an eligible rate reservation, such as paid rate, points, and points + cash redemption. However, they cannot be applied for a reservation with Hyatt Free Night Award redemption.
How to Find Hyatt Free Night Award Certificate?
On the World of Hyatt Website:
- Go to the World of Hyatt website and log into your account.
- Click on your name in the top right-hand corner and click on My Award.
- Expand the Free nights section to see each available Hyatt Free Night Award and its expiration date.
- Please note that if a Hyatt Free Night Award has been used, it continues showing there and will disappear after the expiration date.
On the World of Hyatt App:
- Launch the World of Hyatt app and sign in to your Hyatt account if you are not signed in.
- Tap on Account at the bottom.
- Tap on Awards.
- You can see each available Hyatt Free Night Award and its expiration date.
- Please note that if a Hyatt Free Night Award has been used, it continues showing there and will disappear after the expiration date.
How to Use Hyatt Free Night Award Certificate?
- Go to the World of Hyatt website and log into your account.
- Perform a hotel search like you normally do and ensure the Use Points option is checked.
- Click on the View Rates button of a Hyatt property you’d like to book.
- Under the Standard Room, you should see Free Night available for booking. Select that and continue to finalize your booking. See the screenshot below.
Please note the followings:
- For the Free Night option to show up and be available for booking, your account must have a free night award that corresponds with how many nights you are staying.
