The Finnair Lounge in the Schengen area at Helsinki International Airport (HEL) is bigger than it looks. The lounge covers a good space and offers several seating options for Finnair Business Class passengers.
Passengers that fly out of Helsinki airport (HEL) to other European destinations that are part of the Schengen can find the Finnair Lounge in the Schengen area located by Gate 22.
The lounge is open from 5:30 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. every day.
Finnair Lounge Access
Finnair Lounge on the Schengen side can be accessed with the following requirements:
Same-day Schengen flight departure only.
Finnair Business class passengers.
Oneworld airline Business Class passengers.
Oneworld elite members such as Emerald and Sapphire, plus one additional guest traveling on a flight that is also a oneworld airline.
Finnair Plus Silver members can get a discount for lounge access.
At the lounge entrance, you can scan your eligible boarding pass yourself without interacting with a lounge attendant to enter the lounge. There’s also a lounge attendant to help if needed.
Seats
Pod-looking Seats in Finnair Lounge
Finnair Lounge in the Schengen area looks bigger than it seems. Upon entering the lounge, I noticed right away those cool pod-looking seats. I also thought that the lounge was small and all seats were already taken. However, if you turn left after entering the lounge, you will find additional seats, workstations, and a couple reclining lounge seats in the quiet zone.
Additional Lounge Seats
Workstations
Those seats in the quiet area can be a bit farther from the buffet food and drinks, but I found them pretty nice and, more importantly, very relaxing to sit and enjoy the airport runway through huge lounge windows.

Food
The food inside the Finnair Lounge Schengen area is served buffet-style, and the quality is really low. I did not find them appetizing, and thus I did not eat at all. But here are some photos:

Drinks
While I did not enjoy the buffet food and dessert in the Finnair Lounge, I did like the all-you-can-drink wines, beers, and soft drinks.

Bathroom
The bathroom inside the Finnair Lounge in the Schengen area is another disappointing facility because it is a shared bathroom with limited privacy and space.
Wi-Fi
Complimentary Internet and Wi-Fi are available throughout the Finnair Lounge, and the connection speed is good.
Conclusion
Accessing the Finnair Lounge in the Schengen area before departing Helsinki airport to the next European destination is nice and relaxing. The lounge offers plenty of lounging seats with huge windows for airport and runway views.
The serve-it-yourself alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are generous. However, the food and the lounge bathroom fail to impress me.
