The World of Hyatt has always been one of my favorite hotel's loyalty programs. Hyatt points can be transferred from Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) program and they are very valuable in a way that Hyatt's program is more generous compared to competitors such as Hilton and Marriott. 

An award night with Hyatt requires fewer points than its competitors and there are a lot of opportunities to earn a free night award both with the Hyatt Promotions and Offers through stays and the Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card. Let's take a look at each opportunity:

    Earn Up to Three (3) Free Nights Award by Staying at Different Hyatt Brands

    You can earn one Category 1-4 free night award when you stay at 5 different Hyatt brands. 

    This is an ongoing Hyatt's promotion that has no deadline and it is for the life of the account, meaning you can earn one stay at each brand only once.

    Moreover, because there are eligible 18 Hyatt brands, you can earn up to 3 Category 1-4 free award nights. As Hyatt is expanding with their brands, it can create more opportunities to stay at additional brands. What's best about this offer is that, award stay does count towards the brand's stay.

    Earn One Free Night Award Every World of Hyatt's Credit Card Member Anniversary

    The Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card comes with a $95 annual fee. Every cardmember anniversary, you receive one Category 1-4 free night award that's valid for 1 year from the date of issuance by just keeping the card and paying the annual fee.


    Earn One Additional Free Night Award with World of Hyatt's Credit Card Spend

    You can earn a second Category 1-4 free night award certificate when you spend at least $15,000 in purchases in a calendar year. Free Night award is valid for 1 year from the date of issuance.
    BONUS: If you plan things right, you can also receive 2 tier-qualifying elite night credits each calendar year (January - December) for every $5,000 spend on the Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card.

    Earn One Free Night Award When You Earn Explorist Status

    You earn one Category 1-4 free night award when you earn World of Hyatt's Explorist status. Explorist status requires that you stay 30 tier-qualifying elite nights or earn 50,000 base points or hold 10 qualifying meetings/events in a calendar year. Free Night award is valid for 180 days from the date of issuance.

    Earn One Free Higher Category Night Award When You Reach Globalist Status

    You earn one Category 1-7 free night award certificate when you earn World of Hyatt's Globalist status which requires that you stay 60 tier-qualifying elite nights or earn 100,000 base points in a calendar year or hold 20 qualifying meetings/events in a calendar year. Free Night award is valid for 180 days from the date of issuance.

    Earn Free Night Through Hyatt Promotions and Offers

    Hyatt does run promotions from time to time that offer discounts and free night(s). Currently, Hyatt is offering an opportunity to earn one free night (category 1-4) award after your first 10 nights stay as part of their latest Break Away With Bonus Journeys promotion.     Conclusion

    The World of Hyatt program remains the most generous hotel's loyalty program and the Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card is definitely worth keeping to earn the free night award each anniversary year. The free night itself can outweigh the $95 annual fee since the majority of Hyatt properties have nightly rate that's much higher than $95.
