We’ve put together this master list on how to combine hotel points between accounts. Combing points, also known as pooling points can be beneficial when you are trying to get sufficient points to reach a specific redemption.

While Choice Privilege does not allow points transfer between accounts and IHG Rewards Club charges fees to transfer points, most other hotel programs out there requires no fee to perform a transfer for members. However, there are certain rules that each hotel’s program has in place and we’ll take a look at those rules. Finally, we also provide the information on how long the transfer takes for each program based on the data points we obtained from the miles and points community.

Why Transfer or Pool Hotel Points?

There are various reasons but here are the obvious ones:

    • Pooling hotel points allows you to achieve a specific redemption when one account is low on required points.
    • By transferring points to your traveling companion’s account that has higher elite status to book a stay can really elevate your stay’s experience.
    • Help your loved ones redeem for a stay when you are not traveling with, and hotels generally require the check-in guest name matches the name on the points reservation.
