I was a little bit surprised when I found out that there’s a Marriott Bonvoy property in Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada. Without further ado, I decided to stay there during my trip to Halifax and drove across the Confederation Bridge to PEI.
The Delta Hotels Prince Edward is nicer than I expected, and it looks like the hotel was the Delta Charlottetown hotel before going under the Marriott Bonvoy chain. The nightly rate can be a little costly during peak season, but fortunately, I could redeem Marriott Bonvoy points using the points plus cash option to score an award stay with less money out of pocket. My Marriott Platinum Elite status was also put to good use in terms of the room upgrades and complimentary breakfast. Here is the review in detail:

Location
Delta Hotels Prince Edward is located right in downtown historic Charlottetown. It’s also situated at the waterfront, so you can expect some rooms to offer a full non-obstructed water view that I received an upgrade to as a Marriott Platinum Elite member.
The Delta Hotels Prince Edward location is unbeatable. Walking to restaurants, bars, and entertainment districts such as Victoria Row is convenient.
Water View Room Upgrade
I redeemed for an award stay at Delta Hotels Prince Edward using the combination of Marriott Bonvoy points and cash. The reservation was booked into the standard guestroom; however, a few days before the check-in date, I noticed my room type changed to the guestroom with a water view in the Marriott Bonvoy app. Hallelujah!
The upgrade is most likely because of my Marriott Platinum Elite status. It was the first time I saw the upgraded room type shown on the Marriott Bonvoy app before check-in.
Upon checking in, my room got assigned to the Water View Guestroom on their highest 10th floor. The view was very nice.

Room Review
The Water View Guestroom at Delta Hotels Prince Edward is nice, but I wouldn’t call it luxury. After all, it’s a Delta brand by Marriott that focuses on “Class Premium” rather than “Classic Luxury.”
The guestroom is very clean, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. It has a seating area to relax and enjoy a full waterfront view through a good size window. The view is what makes me love the room!

The bathroom is mediocre, and one complaint that I had is the room does not have good soundproofing. So if you are a light sleeper, you may request the hotel to assign you a room that may help with the soundproof issue.

Delta Pantry
Delta brand by Marriott typically offers a Delta Pantry instead of a club lounge for Marriott Platinum Elite, Marriott Titanium Elite, and Marriott Ambassador Elite members for a quick, on-the-go continental breakfast, premium snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. However, Delta Hotels Prince Edward does not have the Delta Pantry, but instead, you receive complimentary breakfast at the on-site restaurant with the options of a buffet or a-la-cart.
Welcome Amenity
Delta Hotels Prince Edward offers 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points for the members of Marriott Platinum Elite and above.
Moreover, some locally made sweets are found in the guestroom with a welcoming message from the management.

Food & Beverage Credits
There are no food and beverage credits, but you receive daily complimentary breakfast for you and 1 guest staying in the same room at Delta Hotels Prince Edward.
Complimentary Breakfast
As Marriott Platinum Elite and above member, you are provided with a breakfast voucher for daily complimentary breakfast at the on-property restaurant.
The breakfast is an option of either buffet or a-la-cart breakfast. It’s worth mentioning that the buffet breakfast consists of bacon, sausage, and ham which are similar to the items on the a-la-cart menu. You can expect the quality is the same because it comes out from the same kitchen 🙂 The buffet is best if you are in a hurry, especially if the restaurant is too busy. The breakfast service was really slow when I was there. I had to wait almost an hour to get my steak and eggs order.
You sign the breakfast bill at the end, and the hotel will take care of it. However, that wasn’t the case during my stay. At check-out, I saw the breakfast bill was not comped appropriately, but after speaking to the front desk staff, they erased the charges, including the tips.
Dining & Menu
There is one bar and an on-site restaurant called Water’s Edge Resto Bar Grill. It’s where you also enjoy free breakfast as a Marriott Platinum Elite or above member at Delta Hotels Prince Edward. You can look at the menu through OpenTable.
The convenient location of the Delta Hotels Prince Edward also puts you around other dining options outside the property. There are many good restaurants and bars along the waterfront and downtown Charlottetown, all within walking distance of the hotel.
Resort Fee
There’s no resort fee at Delta Hotels Prince Edward.
Parking
Self-parking is CAD 21 per night.
The parking garage was a little bit confusing to find. The garage is located right past Delta Wealth Management. You drive to the garage, and the door will automatically open up. Press the machine to get the parking ticket and take the ticket to the front desk during check-in. They would take the ticket from you, and you simply use your room card for in and out afterward, including the date you finish your stay. So make sure to keep the room key with you, and you can drop the key off in the box by the machine after the garage gate opens.
Pet Policy
Pets are allowed and cost CAD 50 per stay, up to 2 pets.
Housekeeping
Yes, available.
Internet/Wi-Fi
You simply connect to Delta Guest wi-fi and enter your room number and last name to connect, free of charge.
