Which United Plans Have Polaris Seats?
Be aware that United refers to business class seats as Polaris seats, regardless the seats are actual Polaris or not.
The easiest way to tell if your flight has accurate Polaris business class seats is to check the seat map. You will always find Polaris seats have the following configurations:
- 1-2-1 configuration
- 1-1-1 configuration

Currently, these are the United Boeing aircraft that have new Polaris business class seats installed:
- Boeing 777-300ER
- Boeing 777-200
- Boeing 787-8, Boeing 787-9, and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner
- Boeing 767s
United Boeing 777-300ER
This is for those of you that are flying on a United Boeing 777-300ERs:
- Total 60 Polaris seats
- Seats are 1-2-1 configurations.
- 28 seats in the front and 32 seats in the rear cabin.
- Solo Travelers:
- Seat A or L with an odd-numbered window seat provides more privacy than even-numbered window seats open to the walking aisle area.
- Seat 1A, 1L in the front cabin, or Seat 9A, 9L in the rear cabin for more legroom but close to the galley.
- Avoid D and G in odd-numbered seats in the middle rows because those seats are so close to one another, and therefore it’d be awkward to sit that close to a stranger.
- Also, avoid D and G in even-numbered seats in the middle rows because those seats lack privacy.
- Couple Travelers:
- Even-numbered D and G seats because those seats are close to each other.

United Boeing 777-200
If you are flying with United Boeing 777-200:
- Total 50 Polaris Seats
- Seats are 1-2-1 configurations.
- 32 seats in the front and 18 seats in the rear cabin.
- Solo Travelers:
- Seat A or L with an odd-numbered window seat provides more privacy than even-numbered window seats open to the walking aisle area.
- Avoid 7A, 7L, 12A, and 12L if the window is important to you because those seats provide privacy, but they do not have windows.
- Seat 1A, 1L in the front cabin, or Seat 9A, 9L in the rear cabin for more legroom.
- Avoid D and G in odd-numbered seats in the middle rows because those seats are so close to one another, and therefore it’d be awkward to sit that close to a stranger.

- Also, avoid D and F in even-numbered seats in the middle rows because those seats lack privacy.

If you are flying with United Boeing 767s:
- Total 46 Polaris seats.
- Seats are 1-1-1 configurations.

- Seat 1A, 1L for more legroom, but close to the galley.
- Avoid 7A, 7L, 15A, 15L, 17A, and 17L due to misaligned windows if windows are important to you.
