Review: Qatar Airways QR72 Business Class Boeing 787-8 Frankfurt (FRA) to Doha (DOH)

The check-in at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) was very uneventful. The business line was not busy, so we could quickly check in and get our boarding passes. 

Qatar Airways does not have its own lounge at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA), but they have an agreement with the Priority Lounge, which is also a lounge for Priority Pass Membership.

The Priority Lounge is located before security at E gate and after passport control in Terminal 2 of Frankfurt International Airport (FRA).

The boarding process is slightly different at Frankfurt International Airport for Qatar Airways. 

• First, the Priority Lounge is before security but after passport control. There’s a Priority Lane at the security.
• After clearing security, you show your boarding pass and passport ID to enter the boarding waiting area by the zone numbers. 
• Business class is seated in Zone 1.

• There are 22 Business Class lie-flat seats on Qatar Airways Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. 
• 1-2-1 reverse herringbone seats so everyone has direct aisle access.
• Solo travelers should pick seats 1 through 5, A or K (window seats).
• Couple travelers should pick seats 1 through 5, E and F (middle seats).

I also want to point out seats 6E and 6F. They are together seats and located in a section alone by themselves. While the proximity to the lavatory may be bothersome, I think it’s not too bad, especially since there’s a mini divider in front of those seats. If traveling as a couple, I think those seats may be ideal for a secluded feeling during the flight.

I chose the signature drink for the welcome drink. A wine list and meal menu contain more beverages such as mocktails, cocktails, etc. 

The meal is done “on demand” basis, so you can dine whenever you want to. I chose to dine right after taking off so that I had some time to snooze after the meal service. I applaud Qatar Airways for serving meals and drinks so promptly and efficiently! 

The table setting and food are well prepared. I decided my main dish to be the special meal by the chef. I was told the chef was a celebrity chef, and the dish was delicious. It’s a rice dish with curry sauce and has quite a few prawns in it, along with tomato sauce on the side. 

You can find snacks such as chips and fruits in a small section in the back, before seats 6E and 6F!

Wow, I’m super impressed with the service provided by the crew on this flight. Both male and female flight attendants were incredibly nice, friendly and provided prompt service. The service is like First Class, though this is Business Class. So kudos to all the crew on that flight!

• There are two pillows and one blanket on each Business Class seat. 
• Packaged pajamas are also provided.
• In addition, a perfume gift box, including an eye mask, socks, etc., was also provided.
