Location
InterContinental Singapore Bugis Middle Road location is centrally convenient to sightsee Singapore. The property is close to the Bugis MRT subway that connects you to all attractions in Singapore. It’s also connected to the shopping mall, with many restaurants and shops.

Room Upgrades
As an InterContinental Ambassador elite member, you get a complimentary one-category room upgrade. I booked the least expensive King Classic room using the InterContinental Free Weekend Night reward and was upgraded to the high-floor city view on the 12th floor, King Classic High Floor. I think the upgrades may also have to do with my stay preference in my profile which I set as a high-floor preference.
InterContinental Singapore is not known for elite room upgrades, so lower your expectation.
Classic Room Review

InterContinental Singapore Room |
The room at InterContinental Singapore looks nice and classic, and I especially love the entrance of the room.

The bathroom has a bathtub and a walk-in shower, but I wish the water pressure is slightly stronger.

The king bed is comfortable, and I like that it comes with 4 pillows! The room temperature is good, and I had a good night’s sleep every night.

There’s also a work desk and a small sofa section, and in front of that are the high panel windows that offer corner views of the Singapore high rises. They are especially pretty when the lights come up at night.

InterContinental Club Lounge
InterContinental Singapore Bugis has a club lounge. However, it’s not a complimentary access benefit for IHG Diamond Elite or InterContinental Ambassador members. The club lounge is located on the second floor, and from what I gathered, the InterContinental Singapore Club Lounge is not worth paying the access fee.
Welcome Amenity
Two welcome amenity offers are provided because I am an IHG Diamond Elite and an InterContinental Ambassador member.
InterContinental Ambassador elite members can receive an SGD 27 food and beverage credit per stay. You just need to charge any dining bills to the room, and the system will automatically issue the credit. Please note the credit only applies to restaurants owned by InterContinental Singapore, not the ones that lease the space with the hotel and allow you to charge to the room.
As an IHG Diamond Elite member, you also can choose three welcome amenity options:
- 600 points
- Free breakfast
- Welcome drinks
I chose the free breakfast because it offers the best value compared to the other two choices. The buffer breakfast at InterContinental Singapore is definitely worth it!
Food & Beverage Credits
As mentioned, InterContinental Ambassador elite members can get SGD 27 food and beverage credits per stay. Remember, it’s per stay, not per night.
Buffet Breakfast
A complimentary breakfast is one of the welcome amenities offered for IHG Diamond Elite members. The breakfast is buffet style and consists of various hot and cold items from European-style cold cuts, American Western bacon and sausages, and Oriental dishes from rice porridges and noodles to dim sum. There are plenty of choices, and it offers amazing values for IHG Diamond Elite members regarding elite benefit.

Dining
InterContinental Singapore is directly connected to a shopping mall and offers convenient access to Bugis Junction. There are so many restaurants by the property to choose from if you do not want to pay for expensive dining at the hotel.
Suppose you wish to dine at the hotel. In that case, InterContinental Singapore also has a few onsite dining options, and you can use the InterContinental Ambassador food and beverage credit at those places.
Service Charge Fee
InterContinental Singapore is not a resort; thus, there’s no resort fee. There is, however, a 10% service charge of SGD 46.56 per night. There’s no way to waive that fee whether you pay with cash or redeem IHG points for your stay.
Parking
InterContinental Singapore does not have parking anymore. Any parking will occur at the Bugis Junction car park and charge directly through them, not the hotel.
Pet Policy
Pets are allowed only if you book the Pawfect Staycation Package. Dogs only and 2 dogs max.
Internet/Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available and free. You connect by inputting your room number and last name.
Bottled Water
Yes, there are four complimentary bottles of water in the room.

The regular checkout time is 12pm, but as an InterContinental Ambassador and IHG Diamond Elite member, I was offered a 4pm late checkout, which I needed it.

There’s a fitness center at InterContinental Singapore located on the third floor.

Swimming Pool
The outdoor pool opens from 7am to 10pm daily. The water is not heated, but you don’t need it when Singapore is hot and humid.
The pool is on the 4th floor, and key access is required. The view up there is lovely.
