The Marriott Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is one of the best hotel lounges in North America. The lounge is not a typical lounge that serves buffet-style breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvre. You can enjoy the full dining experience in a nice lounge room with delicious complimentary quality food and reasonable-priced hand-crafted cocktails. Here’s the review in detail:

The Marriott Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is located in the corner of the building towards the backdoor that leads to the waterfront. So if you are at the front door or the receptionist area, you continue walking towards the backdoor, passing the hotel’s restaurant Harbourstone Pour House, and turn left, where you will find the Club Lounge room.

You can access the Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel with the following:
- You are a Marriott Platinum Elite, Marriott Titanium Elite, or Marriott Ambassador Elite status member.
- Your room rate includes lounge access.
Accessing the Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel does not require a key. The lounge is an open door, and you can order your food and drinks off the menu. Your eligible charges will be comped by the hotel. This makes me think that if you do not know the lounge access policy and accidentally dine in the lounge, you can most likely enjoy what the lounge offers, but you will be charged.
Lounge Hours
The Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel has the following operating hours:
- Monday through Friday only, close on the weekends
- Morning service from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM
- Evening service from 4 PM to 8:30 PM
If you stay when the Club Lounge is not open, you are offered a complimentary breakfast voucher to use at the onsite restaurant, Harbourstone Pour House. The food served inside the Club Lounge is as good as you will find at the restaurant because they come out from the same kitchen. More below.
Lounge Seats
You will find plenty of seats inside the Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. The lounge has a nice lighting design, chairs, tables, and couches, making it look like a real lounge room to relax, dine and drink. See the photos below.

Breakfast
All food served inside the Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is not buffet-style. It offers a full-service cook-to-order menu and a lounge attendant that takes care of your dining needs when seated.
I was checking out of Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on a Saturday morning, so the Club Lounge was not open for breakfast. However, I was offered a complimentary breakfast voucher to redeem at the onsite restaurant, Harbourstone Pour House.

The breakfast menu at the restaurant is similar to the breakfast menu found inside the Club Lounge. That’s understandable because both the restaurant and the lounge food are cooked in the same kitchen. So you can expect the food quality is the same. The only differences between the two are that the breakfast menu found inside the restaurant offers more selections, and the food is served in a bigger portion.

Evening Meal Service
As mentioned above, all food served inside the Club Lounge at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel is not buffet-style. It offers a full-service cook-to-order menu and a lounge attendant that takes care of your dining needs when seated.
The way orders work inside the Club Lounge is this:
- You and one additional guest can order complimentary five (5) items off the menu.
- All non-alcoholic beverages are also complimentary.
- Alcoholic beverages are NOT complimentary.
- Desserts are NOT complimentary.
- At the end of your meal, you sign the bill with your name and room number, and the lounge server will take care of it accordingly.
- The hotel will comp all eligible charges incurred inside the Club Lounge, but gratuity is not included.

My travel companion and I ordered the following five items:
- We each got a cup of delicious seafood chowder (2 items).
- We ordered the mini larder board to share (1 item).
- I ordered an orange spiced duck carnitas taco (1 item).
- She ordered the mini seafood frittura mista (1 item).

All alcoholic beverages, including beers, wines, and cocktails, are not free. The price of each drink can be found on a separate drinks menu. I frankly enjoyed my Dragon’s Tail cocktail.
