Wyndham acquired Vienna Easy House, and that opened up additional properties for reward stay redemptions in Europe. The Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen is a mediocre hotel in Munich, but it’s clean and requires only 15,000 Wyndham points per night during the Oktoberfest event! As a result, I stayed there during my Oktoberfest trip to Munich as other more central hotels were unavailable for points redemptions.

Location

Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen is located not too far from central Munich, but it’s not within walking distance either. It’s about a 40-minute walk, but it’s close to U-banh underground stations that you can take to wherever you want within Munich city, and Munich public transportation is excellent! There are also a few cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, including a Beer Garden!

Taking public transportation from the airport to Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen is possible because the hotel is located within walking distance of the U-banh stations.

Room Upgrades

As a Wyndham Diamond Elite member, I got upgraded to the Junior Suite located on the first floor upon arrival.

I did not expect much from the Wyndham Rewards program for Diamond’s elite upgrade, mainly because I never got lucky with the U.S. Wyndham brand properties, so I was a little surprised that Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen upgraded my standard room to a Junior Suite, especially during the Oktoberfest event.

Room Review

The Junior Suite is located on the first floor, room number 104.

The entrance to the room is through the fitness door and my room is literally by the Sauna room. There are a few other rooms in that section, and I dislike the soundproofing of the room because I could hear people opening and close doors, taking a shower, etc.

The bed and linens are comfortable, but the pillows are terrible.

The room itself is clean and also offers ample space to move around and store things away. There’s also a mini kitchen space inside the room with a sink. The view from the room, on the other hand, is nothing to write home about.

The bathroom is fine, but the faucet knobs are the most confusing thing for me, and the temperature knob of the walk-in shower cannot be adjusted to cooler. Fortunately, the water temperature is at the medium level, making it okay to take the shower without getting burned! There’s also a bathtub and a towel heater inside the bathroom.

Executive Lounge

There’s no lounge at Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen for Wyndham elite members.

Welcome Amenity Gifts

Inside the Junior Suite room, there’s a note written in German, a bag of trail mix, and also a bottle of sparkling water to welcome me as a loyal Wyndham Rewards guest.

Breakfast

Wyndham Diamond Elites, unfortunately, does not receive complimentary breakfast.

The Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen informed me that it costs 15 euros per person for breakfast if paid the day before. Otherwise, it’s 19 euros on the breakfast day.

Dining

There’s an on-site restaurant but it only opened for breakfast during my visit.

Resort Fee

There is no resort fee or any fees to pay if you use Wyndham points to redeem for the stay at Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen. So it’s a completely free stay.

Parking

On-site- underground parking is available but for a fee.

Pet Policy

Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen allows pets. However, a maximum of one pet is allowed and must weigh 20 kilos or less. In addition, there’s a 15 euros per night.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping is available and Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen gives each guest a small bag laid on the bed to hang at the door and receive a surprise for turning down the housekeeping service.

The “surprises” are just small mini snacks such as M&M and KitKat candies.

Internet/Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is free, and no password is needed. The Internet speed is also good.

Bottled Water

The only bottled water that I received was a sparkling water bottle as part of my Diamond welcome gift inside the room.

Early Check-in

I arrived after the check-in time, so I did not request one. The regular check-in time is 3 pm.

Late Check-out

I had to leave early on my check-out date, so I did not request one. The check-out time is 11 am.

Sauna

Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Munchen does not have a spa. However, there’s a sauna room located on the first floor. My Junior Suite room 104 is next door to the sauna room, referred to as the Sauna/Fitness room.

Inside the sauna/fitness room, there are lockers, a toilet room, the workout area and the sauna room. To access the sauna room, you must obtain another key from the front desk because your room key cannot unlock that room.

Within that sauna room, there’s a dry sauna room, an area to relax and lie down, and a shower room. You must tell the receptionist one hour before using the dry sauna room because they have to turn on the temperature for you and give you the robe and the access key. In my experience, I could keep the key and the robe during my entire stay.

Fitness Center

The fitness room is located on the first floor—the same room where the sauna is.

In-Room Safe

Yes, inside the closet.

Robes & Slippers

No slippers, but have robes if you ask to use the sauna room.

Swimming Pool

None
