The Plumeria Lounge at Honolulu International Airport (HNL) is perhaps the best Priority Pass Lounge. However, that does not mean much because Hawaii airport lounges are generally bad! Compared to the IASS Hawaii Lounge, which is also a Priority Pass lounge, the Pullmeria Lounge is a lot better in terms of space and food.
It’s also important to note that The Plumeria Lounge belongs to Hawaiian Airlines and is, therefore, the first-class lounge for Hawaiian Airlines international-bound passengers. That might explain why it’s above an average airport lounge in Hawaii.
Lounge Location
The Plumeria Lounge is in Terminal 1 at Honolulu Airport (HNL), one level above the departure gates. To find the lounge, look for the Waikiki Shuttle sign and take the escalator up to the lounge entrance. The lounge is airside, so you don’t need to clear security again after your visit.
Access & Hours
The Plumeria Lounge opens from 7 AM to 10 PM daily.
The complimentary priority lounge access is given to eligible Hawaiian Airlines premium class passengers:
- Business Class traveling Internationally.
- First Class traveling to JFK and BOS
Other passengers, such as Priority Pass and Lounge Keys, are permitted to access the lounge on a waitlist basis if the lounge is busy. To join the waitlist, scan the QR code at the entrance and provide your phone number to be notified. You can then watch the waitlist until your turn, and they’ll send you a text message when it’s your turn to go to the lounge. Have your Priority Pass Membership card, ID, and boarding pass ready when you arrive.

Seats
The Plumeria Lounge is not big at all. There are dining seats, lounge seats, and windows-facing seats inside the lounge. However, it can get really crowded, which is why the lounge has a capacity-controlled waitlist system for eligible non-Hawaiian Airlines premium class passengers.
Food
The Plumeria Lounge offers mediocre food. The buffet area is also really small and, during my visit in the afternoon, only had sandwiches and a soup dish.
There are also fruits and snacks available. However, don’t expect great food!
Drinks
Both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are available. There’s also a soda fountain, wines, and Maui brewing beers available.
Bathroom
The Plumeria Lounge has a bathroom, but it’s like a public airport bathroom. The toilet stalls are not private at all.

Wi-Fi is available and free. This is good especially since the Honolulu airport free Wi-Fi is only good up to 5mbs.
Conclusion
The Plumeria Lounge is good enough for a Priority Pass Lounge at Honolulu Airport. Because there are not many good airport lounges in Hawaii in general, It is a decent place to get in and enjoy some decent free food and drinks, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic.
Moreover, the lounge can get really busy, so the first access priority is given to Hawaiian Airlines’ eligible premium class passengers. Other lounge passes, such as Priority Pass Membership, must join the waitlist to access the lounge.
