Review Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite Upgrades and Benefits at Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) Hotel

Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel is located at Terminal 1, offerings direct access to the terminal and convenience for early International departure or late International arrival into Milan Malpensa International Airport (MXP).

My only complaint is the lack of signposting within the airport to get to the hotel. Finding the entrance to the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel was tricky, especially after an International long-haul flight when we were exhausted from flying. If you are reading this, remember that the easiest way to find the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel is to find the signs to go to the underground trains after the baggage claim. Simply follow the sign from there to the hotel. You go too far if you exit the airport after the baggage claim, and you can’t cross the road to the hotel and must go back inside the airport. 

I booked a Classic Guestroom and received a complimentary upgrade to the Junior Suite room for being a Marriott Platinum Elite member. While the room has no airport runway view, it is a good size room with ample space to move around and store things.

The suite has a good size comfortable King bed, but I find the pillows are too soft for my liking. However, there’s another pillow inside the closet that’s harder, and I used that pillow instead, and it was adequate for sleeping comfort. 

The bathroom is nice, overlooking the bedroom. It is also a good size bathroom and comes with nice amenities. The water pressure is strong, and it also has a towel warmer. Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel also offers disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shaving razors. 

Sheraton Club Lounge at Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel was unfortunately closed during my stay. Instead, I was offered some enticing perks as a Marriott Platinum Elite member:

• Complimentary minibar
• Discount of 30% at the on-site restaurant
• Daily welcome drink at the on-site restaurant

Marriott Platinum Elite Benefits

At the time of this writing, it looks like the Sheraton Club Lounge is open now per the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel website. 

I was surprised to see the hotel offered a complimentary in-room minibar for Marriott elite members. Everything in the minibar is completely free, and I remember I had to confirm this with the front desk three times to ensure I would not get charged for alcoholic drinks inside the minibar. 

The in-room minibar is well stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and some snacks. This perk alone is incredible. See the picture below.

I’m not sure if the complimentary minibar benefit given to us was due to the closure of the Sheraton Club Lounge. You may want to check with the property to be sure. It would be incredibly valuable for Marriott elite members if this benefit is an ongoing elite benefit at Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel.

Food & Beverage Credits

We did not get to use the 30% restaurant discount, but we did enjoy two welcome drinks at the on-site restaurant Il Canneto. The bartender told us that each welcome drink voucher could be redeemed for a glass of wine, a bottle of beer, or any non-alcoholic beverages. 

As Marriott Platinum Elite and above member, you can access the Sheraton Club Lounge and enjoy complimentary breakfast every morning inside the lounge. However, the Sheraton Club Lounge was closed during my stay, so we were offered a complimentary buffet breakfast at the on-site restaurant.

Unfortunately, we had to leave early for the train ride before the breakfast was served in the restaurant, so Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel offered us a breakfast bag to go that could be picked up at the front desk instead. The breakfast bag consists of only basic cold options such as juices, water, fruits, bread, jam, etc. See the photo below.

There’s no resort fee at the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel.

• On-site parking is available for €18 per day.  
• Off-site airport parking is also available. You receive a 30% discount for P2 and P3 parking.

Yes, provided. But who needs that when Marriott Platinum Elite and above receive a free minibar? I’m not 100% sure if the free minibar benefit was given to us due to the closure of the Sheraton Club Lounge.
