Earn 185,000 Bonus Marriott Points after you make $6,000 in eligible purchases on your card within the first 6 months of account opening. The offer ends on October 2, 2024.
On our way to the Lake Las Vegas, we decided to check out The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa in Henderson, Nevada for one night. It is about 15 minutes drive from Las Vegas. The property is situated on the lake front and offers tranquility from the hustles and bustles of the Las Vegas Strip.

Marriott Bonvoy Points Booking & Free Night Certificate
The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa is only a Category 4 Marriott Bonvoy property.
Keep in mind that when it comes to award night stays with Marriott, you receive the 5th night free.
Alternatively, if you have a Marriott Free Night Certificate that is worth up to 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, you can redeem for one free night stay at the The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa.
Keep in mind too that sometimes this Westin property does offer low cash rate, so be sure to check that and decide whether you want to pay, redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points or use your Marriott Free Night Certificate.
Complimentary Lake View Room Upgrade
As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite, I notated my reservation asking for a room upgrade to the Lake View with Balcony room. Upon checking in, our room got complimentarily upgraded to the lake view room on the 5th floor. There are a total of 9 floors starting at the 4th floor.
While our floor was not the highest floor, the lake view was nice and the room was good but little bit dated. It was not a huge deal for us though. The balcony, on the other hand, is kind of a “fake” balcony. It’s mainly for the look as it’s not a practical balcony that you sit down and enjoy the view.
Resort Fees & Complimentary Self-Parking
Marriott does impose resort fees on award stays and The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa charges $29 resort fee that includes Internet access, complimentary shuttle to Lake Las Vegas Village and complimentary 1 hour bike rental, etc.
The nice thing about this resort property is that it offers free self-parking. Valet parking is also available for $15 daily. But truthfully I would just do the self-parking as the self-parking lot is not that far from the lobby’s entrance. The complimentary self-parking is available to every guests staying at the resort regardless of what their Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status is.
Complimentary Breakfast or Bonus Points
Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite and above receive bonus points or daily complimentary breakfast for two at the on-site restaurant called Rick’s Café or at the Marrakesh Express. Prior to COVID-19, the resort offers complimentary buffet style breakfast.
We chose to eat our breakfast at the Rick’s Café because the Marrakesh Express is sort of like a market place for a quick grab and go type. Keep in mind that the only breakfast item on the menu that is complimentary at Rick’s Cafe is The Lakeside Breakfast item which normally costs $21 per person (crazy!). It consists of two eggs your style, buttermilk pancakes, breakfast potatoes and a choice of bacon, ham or sausage. You also get morning juice and fresh brewed coffee free of charge. Tips is not included in the voucher. You’ll still need to sign the bill that includes a tip line.
For more dinning options at The Westin Lake Las Vegas, you can access here.
Complimentary Drink at Arabesque Lounge
Any guest staying at the The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa receives one complimentary house drink at Arabesque Lounge. The house drink is called Desert Elixir which consists of Skyy, pomegranate juice, cranberry, ginger ale, lime and mint. It’s a pre-made drink and it tastes just okay. The complimentary drink is available to only 1 guest per room, regardless of their elite status with Marriott Bonvoy.
Other Platinum Elite Benefits
- Two bottled water.
- 50% Bonus Points on stays.
- 4PM late check-out.
