Crowne Plaza Changi Airport remains one of the best Singapore airport hotels inside the terminal.

I decided to stay one night at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport as I heard good reviews about the property, especially the swimming pool at the hotel. It also allowed me to use the 40,000 Points IHG Anniversary Free Night reward for redemption before heading home from my Asia trip to Japan and Singapore.

How to Get to Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is located at the Singapore airport’s terminal. It’s situated in Terminal 3, so wherever you are, simply make your way to Terminal 3, and you do not need to exit the terminal to enter the property. There will be signs there to guide you.

Runway View Room Upgrades

A couple of days before check-in, I asked IHG via chat to add a note requesting a Runway View room for me. I was trying to decide whether to go with the Jewel Wing or the Runway View room, but the Jewel Room is cheaper than the Runway Room, so I decided to go with the Runway View room.

I was upgraded to the Runway View room as an IHG Diamond Elite member at check-in. I asked the front desk, too, whether the Jewel Wing was better, and she said that all it does is overlook the Jewel Dome; you can’t exactly see its waterfall attraction. So I was happy to hear that the Runway View room is better.

There are 9 floors at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, and my Runway View room is on the 7th floor. The moment I stepped into the room, I was amazed by how large the window was, and the airport runway was right before me.

While I’m not an aviation geek, it was nice to see planes come and go on the runway through the comfort of the room.

There’s a couch at the end of the bed, but it’s uncomfortable.

The bathroom is also nice and contemporary, with a bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a rain showerhead.

The room’s highlight is the large windows overlooking the airport runway and the sky train. If you enjoy plane spotting, you’ll definitely appreciate this room type.

Executive Club Lounge

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport does have a club lounge; however, complimentary access to the club is not available to IHG Diamond Elite members.

Upon checking in, I was asked to choose 600 points, welcome drinks, or free breakfast. I always choose breakfast because it offers the best value.

Breakfast

The complimentary breakfast at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is very good. It’s an International buffet breakfast at the onsite Azur restaurant on the second floor.

The buffet breakfast contains Western, European, Asian, and Indian dishes, and they even have Laksa, my favorite local Singaporean cuisine. Therefore, if you are an IHG Diamond Elite member, don’t miss out on the free breakfast if you do not have an early flight before the restaurant opens.

Dining

Azur is the main onsite restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. The restaurant is located on level 2, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features an extensive menu of Asian and Western cuisines. You can view the menu through the direct link below:

Moreover, given that you are right at the airport, there are plenty of places to eat, and the Jewel is conveniently located by the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

Service Charge Fee

There’s no resort fee, as Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is a hotel. However, like other Singapore hotels, there’s a 10% service charge fee per night.

Parking

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport does not offer parking, and you must park and pay directly with the airport, not the hotel. The nearest car park is at Changi Airport Terminal 3 Car Park 3B.

Pet Policy

Unfortunately, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport does not allow any pets.

Internet/Wi-Fi

Yes, Wi-Fi is available with good signals.

Bottled Water

Yes, they are not stingy regarding free bottles of water. Four bottles were in the room, and upon arrival, they offered one bottle too. There are quite a few by the swimming pool as well.

Early Check-in

The regular check-in time is 3pm, and I did not utilize early check-in as I could get a 4pm late checkout at the St. Regis Singapore before moving to Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

Late Checkout

As an IHG Diamond Elite member, the latest they could do was 3pm late checkout, and I didn’t push for 4pm because that’s the standard late checkout benefit for IHG Diamond Elite members. The regular checkout time at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is 12 noon.

Baggage Storage

If you want to go check out the Jewel and do not want to drag suitcases with you or pay to store them at the Jewel baggage storage, you can store your bags at the hotel even after check out, free of charge. You can also use the hotel’s facilities, such as the swimming pool and shower rooms.

Spa

There is a spa center called Natureland in Terminal 3. However, I am unsure if it’s part of the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. They do offer Spacation package deals here under Offers & Packages.

The fitness center is located on the 3rd level, 24 hours.

Yes. Robes are hung up, and the slippers are inside the drawer underneath the wall TV.

The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport pool opens from 7am to 10 pm.

The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport pool is one of the best airport hotel pools I’ve ever stayed in! The pool design is gorgeous, with a sectional design and beautiful palm trees.
