Virgin Atlantic is a UK-based airline, and its Upper Class service offers one of the most premium and enjoyable experiences for flights between the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Best Aircraft Offers Upper Class Seats
Virgin Atlantic has four (4) types of aircraft that offer Upper Class seats. From the best to the least favorite among frequent flyers:
- A330neo (A330-900) features a Retreat Suite, forward-facing with window seats alternating Upper Class Suites and a Loft.
- A350-1000 features reverse herringbone Upper Class Suites and a Loft.
- The Boeing 787-9 offers little privacy, lacking sliding doors or partitions, often referred to as “coffin seats.” See the photos below.
- A330-300 features Upper Class seats with little privacy, also often referred to as “coffin seats.” See the photos below.
Virgin Atlantic Aircraft Change
Please be aware that if Virgin Atlantic changes the type of aircraft, which may affect your Upper Class seat experience, you will not be able to change your flight for free. The only exception is if there is a significant schedule change.
Surcharges on Virgin Atlantic Upper Class Reward Seats
Depending on the routes, Virgin Atlantic imposes high surcharges on Upper Class redemptions.
- For flights from the USA to London and Manchester, expect to pay around $586 one-way.
- From the UK to the USA, the cost is approximately $650 each way.
Searching and Booking Virgin Atlantic Upper Class with Flying Club Points
Virgin Atlantic’s Reward Seat Checker offers an excellent and quick search feature for finding availability in Economy, Premium Economy, and Upper Class tickets. Here’s how:
- Go to the Reward Seat Checker website.
- Provide your interested route and month.
- Then, click the red button labeled “Find reward seats.”
- The page will show search results for the entire month. You can also navigate forward and backward through the month to check availability. See the following image.
