Congrats for having the courage (audacity) to post anything about the Radisson chain. Yes, happens we have four of those free nights (earned via cc's), and as they're about to expire, we've been fretting about just where to use them…. given all the serious problems afoot with Radyshack US. Hadn't heard about the St. Augustine new option — intriguing (and kudos to them for no resort or parking fee)
But wow, are you serious about the seriously dilapidated Melbourne FL Radisson? Check out the horrendous string of bad reviews via tripadvisor (or anywhere else, EXCEPT the Radisson web site — which edits out bad reviews, somehow)…. Sure, it once was a wonderful place; we stayed there many times over the past decade, and sadly, each time we're hear the lines about upgrades/renovations in progress…. a broken record now. I want to believe they have all in order now, but there track record is VERY POOR. (and they sock everyone with a $12 resort fee — which adds serious insult to everyone's injury)
One place you didn't mention…. the Country Inn & Suites at Kalispell, Montana (at airport gateway to western end of Glacier National Park) That too, a relatively new property… Can't say enough good things about that place…. (just as I'm bitter as…. that Radisson let their jewel at Melbourne deteriorate so badly…. and that began long ago)
