Chase and Hyatt launched the new Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card. It seems to me that the new Hyatt business card focuses more on big spenders who value Hyatt benefits and heavily invest in the Hyatt ecosystem. You can really spend your way up to Hyatt's top-tier Globalist elite status.

Without a doubt, if you have both the consumer Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card and the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, the potentials to maximize spending on both cards and earn all the Hyatt benefits and milestone rewards are phenomenal.

How to Earn Hyatt Globalist Status With the World of Hyatt Credit Card Spend

First, you need to understand that the following strategy works only if you really value Hyatt benefits and stay at Hyatt hotels and resorts a lot more than other hotel chains. More importantly, you can put a lot of spending on the Hyatt credit cards each year.

Here's a scenario that you can earn the World of Hyatt Globalist status faster with the Hyatt credit card spend. For those that have both the personal Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card and the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card:

    • Earn 5 Elite Nights: You receive complimentary 5 elite nights for just having the personal Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card at the beginning of the year.
    • Earn 6 Elite Nights: After you spend $15,000 on the personal Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card in a calendar year, you'll receive 6 elite nights (2 elite nights per each $5,000 spent).
    • Earn 25 Elite Nights: After you spend $50,000 on the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card in a calendar year, you'll receive 25 elite nights (5 elite nights per $10,000 spend).
    • Earn 3 Elite Nights: You earn 3 Hyatt Free Night Awards from above spending and meeting the Hyatt Milestone Reward. You can redeem 3 free nights' stay with each Hyatt Free Night Award. Each free night's redemption does count towards your Hyatt elite nights and tier status.
      • You earn 1 anniversary Hyatt Category 1-4 Free Night Award with the personal Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card.
      • You earn 1 Hyatt Category 1-4 Free Night Award from spending $15,000 on the personal Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card. You can earn the maximum free night award of only one (1) per calendar year (January - December).
      • You earn an additional 1 Hyatt Category 1-4 Free Night Award for reaching 30 nights Hyatt milestone reward.
    • Total 39 Elite Nights earned. Meanwhile, you'll also earn the following card benefit and Hyatt milestone reward:
      • You earn 4 Hyatt Club Lounge Access Awards (2 from hitting 20 nights and 2 from hitting 30 nights milestone reward).
      • You get a 10% points rebate up to 20,000 points per calendar year from spending $50,000 on the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.
      • 30 elite nights are enough for you to earn the World of Hyatt Explorist status.

Up to this point, you are only 1 elite night away from reaching the 40-nights Hyatt Milestone Reward that will give you a choice of the following additional award:
    • 5,000 Bonus Points or
    • A $100 Hyatt Gift Card or
    • 10,000 Point savings on a FIND experience

After all, is said and done, you only need 20 more Hyatt elite nights to reach the Globalist status. You can continue spending on the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card or simply earn those 20 elite nights from your regular Hyatt stays. All cash paid, points, points+cash, and Hyatt Free Night Award stays all count.

Really though, if you are willing to spend that much and go that far to earn Hyatt's top-tier elite status, that tells me that you are staying at Hyatt hotels and resorts a lot in a year. Therefore, getting additional 20 elite nights should not be an issue.

How to Get Hyatt Explorist Status With the World of Hyatt Credit Card Spend

Each World of Hyatt credit card offers you automatic complimentary Hyatt Discoverist status each year for simply having the credit card.

Using the strategy mentioned above to earn the World of Hyatt elite status through Hyatt credit card spend, you will earn a total of 36 elite nights without counting the 3 additional elite nights from redeeming each of your Hyatt Free Night Award. 30 elite nights are all you need to get the Explorist status in the World of Hyatt program.

How long does Hyatt Globalist status last?

Once you earn elite status with the World of Hyatt program, your Hyatt Globalist status will be good for the rest of the calendar year in which you've earned it, plus the following year and an additional two more months after that.

Therefore at the beginning of each year, the sooner you earn Hyatt Globalist elite status, the better because you will be able to enjoy all the elite perks for the remainder of the year that you've earned the status, plus one following full year and an additional two more months afterward.

For example, if you earn Hyatt Globalist status in 2022, it will be valid until February 29, 2024. That's when your Hyatt elite status will reset, and you'll have to earn enough night credits in the 2023 calendar year to re-qualify for the Globalist status after February 2024.

With that being said, if you are getting Hyatt Globalist status in 2022 through the Hyatt credit card spend mentioned above, you can skip spending in the 2023 year if you want and repeat when the 2024 year begins. That will give you somehow a break from trying to hit too much spending each year to earn Hyatt status.

Recommended Meeting the World of Hyatt Credit Card Spending to Earn Signup Bonus

Note: The following recommended timing strategy varies by each person's situation. The recommendation focuses more on applying and getting approved for the Hyatt credit card towards the end of the fiscal year. Therefore, it may not apply to those approved for the card at the beginning of the year.

If you apply and are approved for the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card at the end of this year 2022, I want to also recommend that you spend the $10,000 to earn 5 elite nights in 2023 instead if you are not chasing the Hyatt elite status this year.
    • Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card currently offers after you spend $7,500 in purchases within the first 3 months from account opening.
    • You'll just need an additional $2,500 to spend on the card to earn 5 elite nights.

Therefore, it's best if you can hold off putting the $10,0000 spent on the card until 2023 so that you can earn 5 elite nights that will be counted towards your Hyatt's elite nights and tier status for 2023 qualifications. Remember, Hyatt's elite nights reset at the beginning of each year.

Similarly, if you are approved for the personal Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card, it's also best you wait until 2023 to spend to earn the signup bonus points.
    • Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card currently offers after you spend a total of $15,000 in purchases within the first 6 months from account opening.
    • You'll earn 6 elite nights plus 1 Hyatt Free Night Award after spending $15,000 in 2023.
