From time to time, credit card company offers bonus points to add an
authorized user to a credit card. The process to add an authorized user to a
credit card is really simple and easy. However, the thing about being an
authorized user on a credit card is that the credit card issuer does report
that credit card as an open account to your credit report. 
Chase is one of the
credit card issuers that allow adding an authorized user to a credit card, but
they also report that to the credit bureau and thus you, as a an authorized
user, will have that one additional card open on your credit report.

    Does Chase Report Authorized Users?

    Yes. If you are an authorized user on a Chase credit card, Chase will report
    that credit card as an open account on your credit report. 

    Do Authorized User Cards Count Against Chase’s 5/24 Rule?

    Chase has notorious
    5/24 Rule
    when it comes to approving or denying a credit card application based on the
    amount of credit cards you open in the past 24 months. When you, an authorized
    user, submit a new Chase credit card application later on, Chase will pull
    your credit report. Chase cannot tell whether you are just an authorized user
    on an open credit card account that they see on your credit report. If Chase
    sees that you have 5 or more new credit card accounts in the past 24 months,
    Chase will not approve your new application. However, it is known that you can
    call

    to explain so that they don’t count that authorized user card against the 5
    cards rule.

    Chase makes it possible to request a credit card account be removed from your
    credit report. By default, when you are removed as an authorized user on a
    Chase credit card, that account does not get removed from your credit report
    automatically. 
    The primary card member can request Chase to remove you as an authorized user
    and then send a secured message to Chase online with the following instruction
    that is provided by Chase below.

    To remove the account from his/her credit report, please print
    this form and have [the individual name] complete and sign the
    form provided below. You may mail this to Cardmember
    Service, PO Box 15298 Wilmington, DE 19850-5298 or fax the
    information to 1-888-593-8302.

    Editor’s Note: After the form is completed and signed, you can simply
    send a secured message to Chase and attach the form to the message. 

    Copy the following text to a word document. Fill it out and have the Authorized User sign it. Then send it back to Chase.

    That’s it! That’s all you have to do. Once the removal process is done,
    that credit card account will disappear from your credit report as an open
    account.
