I stayed at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort on the Canary Island of Spain. This family-friendly resort features a large outdoor swimming pool and direct beach access. It also offers a variety of room types, including suites. The room rate is not too expensive, and thus, Marriott Bonvoy points redemption is between 25k and 40k, depending on your stay dates. Therefore, this particular Sheraton resort can be a good use of your Marriott Free Night 35k Certificate.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Location
As its name suggests, the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort is a beachfront resort. Situated at the Caleta de Fuste beach, the resort is not too far from the Fuerteventura airport. While you may be seeing planes fly by the resort, the plane’s noise is nonexistent.
Behind the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort, there is also a nice boardwalk that connects to a shopping center that houses a supermarket, shops, and dining venues.
Platinum Member’s Room Upgrades
It is an interesting topic regarding room upgrades for me as a Marriott Platinum Elite member. A couple of days before check-in, I noticed that my room received an upgrade to a Deluxe Oceanview Junior Suite but with two twin-size beds. I preferred a king-size bed, so after messaging the hotel, the front desk representatives confirmed that it was a king-size Junior Suite and told me not to worry about seeing otherwise in the Marriott Bonvoy app.
The day before check-in, I noticed my room type had changed back to my original standard award room, the Deluxe Oceanview King Room. I messaged the hotel to inquire about the issue, and the front desk once again confirmed that it was a Junior Suite in their system.
Upon checking in, there were no mentions of the upgrade. Looking at the room and comparing it with the photos on the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort website, I did not receive a Junior Suite upgrade. I did not cause any trouble as I wholeheartedly understand that Marriott Platinum Elite members’ room upgrades are subject to availability. It’s highly possible that they were able to sell the revenue Junior Suites instead of giving it away for free. But, they could have told me that instead of continuing to tell me I got an upgrade to the Junior Suite room.
Dexlue Oceanview Room Review
The Deluxe Oceanview Room at Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort is spacious. If I did not look at the photos online, I would not be able to tell the differences between an Oceanview Junior Suite and a Deluxe room. In fact, the standard award room at this specific resort includes Gardenview rooms up to Deluxe Oceanview rooms. Therefore, I strongly recommend you book directly into that room type if you redeem Marriott Bonvoy points.
The Deluxe room is large and has a small sofa, a coffee table, and a work desk. Although the furniture appears to be dated, the upkeep is not bad, considering it is an old resort that has been running since the SPG program.
The king-size bed is practically a box spring. One move would move the entire bed, and we could hear the squeaking furniture. The room’s soundproofing is not great.
The room also features a good-sized balcony with two padded chairs and a small table. The balcony offers beautiful ocean, beach, and sunrise views, as well as the resort’s miniature golf course and the outdoor swimming pool.
The bathroom is also large, with double vanity sinks, a separate toilet room, and a walk-in shower room with a bathtub on the side.
Club Lounge
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort does not have a club lounge for Marriott Elite members.
Marriott Platinum Elite Welcome Amenity
During check-in, I appreciated that the front desk guy acknowledged my Marriott Platinum Elite status and handed me an envelope containing a couple of Platinum Elite benefits, such as on-site buffet discounts and a spa pass that I’ll describe more below. The bellboy was also ready and available to help with any luggage, including welcome drinks of either orange juice, prosecco, or water.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Food and Beverage Credits
Suppose you are a Marriott Platinum Elite member and do not book a half-board or all-inclusive package at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort. In that case, you receive the following food and beverage discounts:
- 50% off on-site buffet dinner.
- 20% off on-site a-la-cart.
Free Breakfast at Sheraton Fuerteventura Resort
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort offers complimentary breakfast for their Member Rate. In other words, you will get free daily breakfast as long as you book the standard room rate as a Marriott Bonvoy member with points, a free night, or cash. Therefore, whether you are a Marriott Platinum Elite or not does not really matter here to receive a complimentary breakfast benefit.
The breakfast buffet is huge. There are several options, from hot food to cold cuts, pastries, breads, fruits, juices, smoothies, etc. While coffee, tea, and juices are part of the free breakfast, soda beverages such as Coke and Sprite are not.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Resort Dining
There are a few on-site restaurants at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort. While there are other dining venues inside the shopping center on the boardwalk, I have to tell you that the food there is more of a fast food than a true dine-in experience. However, the resort’s restaurants obviously cost more.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Resort Fee
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort does not have a resort fee. You only pay for the room rate plus taxes. However, there are no add-on fees when you redeem Marriott Bonvoy points. There’s a tax and an optional 1 Euro charity fee per day that you can request the hotel to remove if you’d like.

Early Check-in
I did not perform any early check-in. I arrived at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort around 3:30 pm, which is the resort’s regular check-in time.
Late Check-out
The regular check-out time is noon, and I did not really need a late check-out, so I did not ask. Generally speaking, you can request a late check-out as a Marriott Platinum Elite member. Most hotels may tell you to check back the day before your departure, though.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Resort Spa
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort has a spa on the negative number two floor. It was a little bit hard to find, so do not hesitate to ask the resort’s staff. But from what I gathered, you take the elevator to the negative number one floor, then locate room number 135 and take the elevator there to the negative number two floor based on the information sign for the spa.
As a Marriott Platinum Elite member, the Sheraton resort will give you a 1-day invitation voucher for your entire party staying in the same room to access the spa facility free of charge. They have certain hours for children and adults inside the spa facility because anyone can access it by paying the admission fees. Therefore, be sure to ask for those hours when you are there, but you do not need a reservation. The spa access for an adult generally costs 30 Euros per admission and 15 Euros per child.
The spa at Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort is amazing. The Roman bath and thermal pool are excellent. I recommend that you go as soon as you can enter to avoid crowds. We did just that, and it was so peaceful. We enjoyed the spa’s thermal pool, jacuzzi, and steam rooms without any hassles.
Fitness Center
The fitness center at Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort is on the same floor as the spa facility.

Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort has daily performance shows and live music. There’s also a game room for family.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Outdoor Swimming Pool
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort has a huge outdoor swimming pool complex. It gets really busy with children because the resort’s pool is great for both adults and children. The little ones also have their playground swimming pool.
The best thing about the outdoor swimming pool at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort is that it is heated. However, I did not like that many families overran it. That’s why I enjoyed the pool inside the spa better using the complimentary access voucher for being a Marriott Platinum Elite member.
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach
Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort offers direct beach access to the public sandy beach behind the resort. The beach chairs and umbrellas do not belong to the resort, and therefore, you must pay the local vendor on the beach should you want to rent one.
There’s also a boardwalk between the resort and the beach, which provides an excellent way to walk along the beach to a shopping center and other dining venues outside the resort.
