I was traveling in business class with Iberia from Madrid (MAD) to Chicago (ORD), which allowed me access to the Iberia lounge, Premium Lounge Velazquez, in Terminal 4S. Although navigating from Terminal 4 to Terminal 4S can be a bit of a process, the lounge is relatively easy to locate, thanks to the clear signage at Madrid airport.

Iberia Premium Lounge Velazquez Location

Madrid Iberiaโ€™s business class lounge,ย Premium Lounge Velazquez, is within the duty-free area in Terminal 4S. You need to check in and clear security at Terminal 4. You then only need to clear passport control in Terminal 4S. After that, you will see the duty-free and the sign for VIP Lounge Sala VIP IBERIA. See the following photo below:

Premium Lounge Velazquez Access

  • The oneworld elites and business class passengers, such as American Airlines, for example.
  • Iberia business class passengers.

Iberia Business Lounge Seats

The Iberia Premium Lounge Velazquez is a long, spacious business lounge. Several seating options are available throughout the lounge, from those facing the runway to dining chairs and pods. I really like the red and beige color choices of the chairs inside the Iberia lounge. The glass windows are also so huge that you could see the entire terminal runway.

Iberia Lounge Food

I was there during breakfast time, so they were having a buffet breakfast. There are two buffet stations inside the lounge, but they serve the same things. I like that thereโ€™s a sign for one-way access at the buffet, but whether people follow it is another story. The breakfast quality and options are very underwhelming, though.

Iberia Lounge Drinks

Thereโ€™s no shortage of complimentary self-serve beverages inside the lounge: water, sodas, wines, champagne, tea, coffee, etc.

Bathroom and Toilet

The bathroom is nothing special. I also donโ€™t like that all toilet stalls are not fully enclosed, and the space between them and the urinals is really close in the male toilet. So you can practically hear pretty much everything.

Freshen Up Shower Rooms

Yes, there are shower rooms available on the right hand side of the check-in desk. The lounge staff also requires that you make a shower reservation.

Rest Cabins

Resting rooms are also available inside the Iberia lounge. Like the shower rooms, you must make a reservation at the check-in desk before entering, per the sign in front of the rest cabins.

Conclusion

The Iberia Premium Lounge Velazquezย for business class at Madrid Airport Terminal 4S is quite impressive in terms of space and amenities. However, the buffet breakfast choices and quality fall short.
