After my stay at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach Golf & Spa Resort on the Canary Islands of Spain, I visited the Alua Suites Fuerteventura. This family-friendly hotel resort is part of the World of Hyatt program, so I used Hyatt points to book a standard Junior Suite room. What’s amazing about this redemption is that it includes both the room and the all-inclusive package for free unlimited food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Alua Suites Fuerteventura Location
Alua Suites Fuerteventura is located in the town of Corralejo. While it isn’t directly on the oceanfront or beachfront, it’s just a short stroll away from the water, perfect for a coastal walk. You can also reach a sandy beach in about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, or you can head into town along the coastal path. It’s important to note that swimming in the ocean from the coastal area behind Alua Suites Fuerteventura involves walking on lava rocks.
My Favorite Club Junior Suite Room Redemption
The standard World of Hyatt award room is the Junior Suite. In fact, I specifically chose Alua Suites Fuerteventura because of its all-suite rooms, its location, and its low redemption compared to the next blocks away, Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa.
Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa requires much higher award redemption, but it’s a beachfront all-inclusive resort. You still have to walk on lava rocks to swim in the ocean, but the resort has stairs that guests can use to get in. See the photos below.
I received a Hyatt Club Access award from another World of Hyatt member and redeemed it on this particular reservation to access My Favorite Club at the hotel. The reason is very simple: this hotel is a family-friendly resort, and access to the exclusive club is adults-only (16+ years old) and avoids many crowd hassles for relaxing at the swimming pool and dining. Therefore, I highly recommend you do everything in your power to get the My Favorite Club access if you want to have a relaxing holiday. I am so glad we did it because families overran the general public areas, and the on-site main buffet restaurant was like a “zoo.”
Is Alua Suites Fuerteventura’s My Favorite Club Worth It?
My Favorite Club Junior Suite Room Review
As its title suggests, the Junior Suite room is inside the gated My Favorite Club area. Upon checking in, the staff programmed my room key with access to the exclusive My Favorite Club. You’ll need the room key to tap in and out of the club’s gate.
My junior Suite room, number 1624, is at the end of the second floor. There’s no elevator at Alua Suites Fuerteventura, but the room has an AC and is also spacious enough for two people. Inside the room, there’s a work desk with a mini bar, a sofa, a coffee table, and a large king-size bed. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows are not. However, there are extra pillows in the closet, and I find them more comfortable.
The closet is between the common living area and the bathroom. The bathroom is okay. It has a sink and a walk-in shower.
The Junior Suite also has a balcony with two chairs and a table. It looks out to the garden and other guests’ suite units, and it’s peaceful, to say the least. If you are looking for an ocean view, it’s actually in the shared hallway before entering the room per design.
Alua Suites Fuerteventura Club Lounge
If your booking is a My Favorite Club room, you can access the gated club area known as My Favorite Club. In my case, I used one of the Hyatt Club Lounge Access Awards and applied it to the reservation. It was so worth it because it enabled us to enjoy breakfast in the morning inside the club without fighting with the main buffet restaurant’s crowds. As club room guests, we also had access to an on-site My Favorite Club restaurant that’s exclusive for club-level guests.
Moreover, My Favorite Club area has private swimming pools, a lounge, and a full-service bar, which was nice as we truly enjoyed that.

Food and Beverage
Alua Suites Fuerteventura is an all-inclusive hotel resort. If your booking has the package, you can enjoy food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages.
I do not recommend cocktail drinks at Alua Suites Fuerteventura because they are from the pre-made machine. Instead, you can request your preferred liquor and mix it with soda or tonic water to your liking. Moreover, if you see “AI” on the drinks menu, that means it is included in the all-inclusive package at no extra cost.
Buffet Breakfast
Breakfast is part of the all-inclusive privilege. As My Favorite Club guests, we enjoyed daily breakfast inside the club lounge instead of the main on-site buffet restaurant. It’s a buffet breakfast that offers a variety of hot and cold options, including champagne to make your mimosa drinks.
The club lounge serves breakfast starting at 7:30 AM. We really enjoyed going to the lounge to have breakfast before 8:30 AM because that’s when club guests started coming. Still, it’s not as crowded as the general public’s main buffet breakfast restaurant. I went to check it out, and it was literally like a “zoo.”
All-Inclusive Dining
Alua Suites Fuerteventura offers a few dining options as part of the all-inclusive package. The best way to check out all dining options and hours during your stay at the hotel is to download the Hyatt Inclusive Collection app from the app store. It is a useful tool for seeing everything at a specific hotel and resort within the Inclusive Collection. If you’d like, here’s the direct link to the Dining & Drinks at Alua Suites Fuerteventura.
Moreover, guests must make a reservation for the a la carte restaurant ENYESQUE on the morning of its opening day. Hotel staff start taking reservations at 9:30 AM, by the main buffet restaurant. It’s advisable to arrive early to secure the first seating at 6:30 PM, as the queue can be lengthy. The second seating is at 8:30 PM.

There’s no resort fee at Alua Suites Fuerteventura.
Parking
If you do not drive, then you can skip this section.
Parking is not ideal at the Alua Suites Fuerteventura because the hotel does not have a dedicated parking area for guests. Instead, guests are encouraged to park anywhere off-site that’s within walking distance of the hotel. There’s a small parking area in front of the hotel, but due to its size, it can fill up really quickly. Don’t worry; the area surrounding Alua Suites Fuerteventura is not too busy to find a parking spot, and it’s okay to park 24 hours for free.
Pet Policy
Alua Suites Fuerteventura does not allow pets.
Housekeeping
Yes, housekeeping service is available.
Internet/Wi-Fi
The Wi-Fi at Alua Suites Fuerteventura is terrible. It does not work at several places within the hotel complex.
Bottled Water
There’s one large bottled water inside the Junior Suite room.
It’s worth mentioning, too, that Alua Suites Fuerteventura does not provide any bottled water at restaurants or inside the My Favorite Club Lounge. You can only obtain a glass of water each time.
Minibar
Inside the Junior Suite room and under the work desk, there’s a minibar. Since it’s an all-inclusive deal, you can literally drink whatever you’d like from that minibar.
The mini bar consists of limited items such as:
- Beers
- Coca-cola
- Fanta
- A small bottled water
The housekeeping service will replenish it each day.
Early Check-in
The regular check-in time at Alua Suites Fuerteventura is 3 PM. We arrived at 3:30 PM, and our Junior Suite room was ready. Therefore, I am not sure about the early check-in, but I assume the hotel will accommodate you if your room is ready.
Late Check-out
Alua Suites Fuerteventura’s check-out time is noon. You may need to request the late check-out in the morning of your check-out day.
Wellness Spa
There’s a wellness spa at Alua Suites Fuerteventura. However, we did not utilize it. I did get a chance to take a quick photo of the spa menu, though.
Gym
Yes, the gym is also available and it’s right by the wellness spa.
Activities
Alua Suites Fuerteventura has activity boards for both adults and children. In front of the Fresco bar and snacks, there’s also a small man-made beach volleyball court.
In-Room Safe
Yes, it’s inside the closet.
Robes and Slippers
You can find them inside the closet.
Alua Suites Fuerteventura Swimming Pools
All outdoor swimming pools at Alua Suites Fuerteventura are small. However, there are quite a few throughout the hotel, from the children’s pool to the adult’s pools. Those are in the main building and can get really busy and crowded. Honestly, I did not enjoy the sights of those swimming pools when walking around the hotel. It’s super busy, and one pool plays really loud music, and so on. See the resort’s map photo below to get an idea of the swimming pools at Alua Suites Fuerteventura.
Instead, I highly recommend you have the My Favorite Club privilege to access the two swimming pools inside the gated club lounge. The pools there are heated and much quieter as they are not available for non-club guests, and it’s adults-only (16 years and older).
Beach
Alua Suites Fuerteventura is not a beachfront nor an oceanfront hotel. Therefore, there’s no beach. If you are looking for a beach, you will have to walk 10-15 minutes towards Corralejo via the scenic coastal path.
