After our good 5 nights stay at Hyatt Regency Guam, we took a quick 30-minute plane ride from Guam to Saipan and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Saipan

I don’t know how to really categorize this resort. It’s one of the oldest resorts in Saipan and has gone through multiple owners until Hyatt and the property needs some upkeep and renovations to remain a high-end five stars resort in Saipan. Regardless, our stay was comfortable, and the service at the resort is impeccable, especially if you are a World of Hyatt Globalist staying there.

    Location

Hyatt Regency Saipan is a beachfront property located by the American Memorial Park. Its central location offers the convenience of exploring Saipan from each direction. Renting a car is recommended to sightsee Saipan on your own or join a tour. If you did not plan in advance, there are rental car and tour businesses at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, but they are not part of the resort, so you can’t do a room charge.

    Suite Room Upgrades

I used my last Hyatt Suite Night Award and applied to the 5-night stay at Hyatt Regency Saipan
A couple days before check-in, I emailed the property to inquire about a further upgrade to their Executive Suite and got approved. Saipan is not a busy touristy island, so chances of getting an upgrade to the standard Suite, Regency Suite, are high if you ask the hotel in advance, especially if you are a Globalist member.

    Executive Suite Room Review

The Executive Suite that was assigned to me was corner Suite 347. In fact, all their Executive Suites are corner suites located in the Regency Wing
There are higher floors than my 3rd floor, and the higher your floor is, the better views of the ocean and pool you get. I was happy enough to just get an upgrade to the Executive Suite from the standard Regency Suite

Upon entering the Suite, I noticed the floor’s decor was dated. The living area is huge with also dated pieces of furniture, and they squeak when you sit down or move, LOL.
The Suite has many windows, so getting sunlight is not a problem.

The bedroom is a decent size bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed. The end tables lack new technology devices plugins.

The beautiful bathroom suite has a double vanity sink and a jacuzzi bathtub. It also has a walk-in shower, a separate toilet room, and an automatic seat opening and flushing bidet. Speaking of toilets, another toilet room has a sink by the entry.

The balcony of the Executive Suite is large. If you enjoy the sun, you’ll have plenty of sun sitting on the balcony. The furniture on the balcony is also outdated.
The view is mediocre from my suite 347, mainly because it’s a low floor. The resort’s trees blocked the ocean view, so I got only a partial view. There’s also a partial view of the pool from the Suite. In summary, views from the third floor are so-so. Request a higher floor, such as 5th or 6th, for better views.

    Regency Club Lounge
The Regency Club Lounge is located on the second floor in the Regency Wing. All guests with access to the club are put inside the Regency Wing rooms.
One benefit of staying on the third floor is accessing the Regency Club through a staircase. The staircase leads to the club without taking an elevator.

Regency Club at Hyatt Regency Saipan is fine. The food is good, and I particularly enjoyed the salad options. The nice thing about the Regency Club at Hyatt Regency Saipan is the all-you-can-drink alcoholic beverages such as wines, beers, champagnes, and make-your-own cocktails. See a full review below:

    Welcome Amenity

No welcome amenities or gifts are offered at Hyatt Regency Saipan for Globalists. At check-in, the guest experience manager checked me in and offered her a handwritten note, which was sweet.

    Food & Beverage Credits

There are no food and beverage credits. However, you get 15% off dining onsite as a World of Hyatt Globalist elite member.

    Breakfast

Globalists get complimentary breakfast at the onsite restaurant Kili Café & Terrace
Generally, Globalists get free breakfast inside the Regency Club, but Hyatt Regency Saipan offers Globalist members a free buffet breakfast at the restaurant instead. This is similar to the Hyatt Regency Guam
The buffet breakfast at Hyatt Regency Saipan is okay. I could not find things that I truly love as far as the buffet goes. I detailed the buffet breakfast, including photos in the Regency Club review below:

    Dining

There are a few dining options onsite at the Hyatt Regency Saipan. Remember, as a World of Hyatt Globalist, you get 15% off dining bills
Our favorite dining option at Hyatt Regency Saipan is the beach bar that opens at 4pm. They set up tables and chairs on the beach and even have a BBQ grill. You order the BBQ food and drinks from the bartender. The place is perfect for sunset time. We spent every evening drinking and enjoying the sunset and small BBQ plates. I love that the area is not overcrowded, even though non-guests are welcome too!

    Resort Fee

Hyatt Regency Saipan has a low $10 resort fee.

    Parking

Parking is complimentary to all guests, regardless of whether you are a Globalist elite status member.
A parking space at the back offers quicker access to the Regency Wing, just an FYI.

    Internet/Wi-Fi

The Internet access at Hyatt Regency Saipan has 3 options:
    • Complimentary Wi-Fi after you put in your last name and room number. The speed could be faster.
    • Premium Wi-Fi costs $12 daily but is waived for Globalist elite members at check-out.
    • A pocket Wi-Fi is available and free for guests, and I was wondering if it was free because of Globalist or not. The front desk can review the rental policy and functionality of the pocket Wi-Fi should you need one.

    Bottled Water

The Executive Suite at Hyatt Regency Saipan has several water bottles in the living room and bathrooms.
Inside the fridge, there are also a couple free local beers in addition to bottles of water.
You can also get more water bottles from the Regency Club during the afternoon tea and coffee or evening services.

    Early Check-in

Saipan is not a busy tourist destination like Guam. So when my flight arrived early morning from Guam, I called the property and asked for an early check-in possibility. They told me the Suite would be ready between 10:30am and 11am, and the regular check-in time is 3pm.

    Late Check-out

My luck in getting a late check-out at Hyatt Regency Guam did not succeed despite my Globalist status because the property was busy. At Hyatt Regency Saipan, on the other hand, they asked if I wanted to utilize the Globalist’s 4pm late check-out benefit, and I declined because we had a morning flight leaving Saipan. The check-out time is 12pm noon.

    Spa

The spa was not open when I was there, and I was told it was not operating until further notice.

    Fitness Center

Yes located on the ground floor of the Regency Wing, and it opens from 5am to 10pm.

    In-Room Safe

    Yes, inside the closet.

    Robes & Slippers

Robes are available, but no slippers. Those old, dated floors do need slippers to walk on them! 🙂

    Swimming Pool

The swimming pool at the Hyatt Regency Saipan could be better, and it’s small and lacks umbrellas and chairs, especially when it’s busy on the weekend, given the resort offers paid passes to non-guests as well.
There’s a menu QR code for poolside dining, but no pool service and everything has to go through the lifeguard. Pool hours are odd; they close between 12pm and 1pm daily to sanitize the pool and then reopen only until sunset, around 6pm.
It’s a decent pool and needs some tenders and care. I personally prefer the infinity pool at the Regency Club better, but you must have club access to enjoy that pool.

    Beach & Amenities

Hyatt Regency Saipan is a beachfront property, but the beach is public. The resort does not offer free beach chairs and umbrellas; you’ll have to rent from the place on the beach.
