Uber One Membership & Cost
For those unfamiliar with Uber One, it is a paid membership subscription service that offers savings and exclusive perks on both Uber Rides and Uber Eats.
Uber One membership costs $9.99 per month, and Uber claims that members can save, on average, $25 per month with the membership.
This obviously depends on how much you utilize the monthly membership benefits for Uber and Uber Eats.
I don’t see the savings outweighing the monthly membership cost. So I choose not to pay the full monthly subscription cost; therefore, getting a free or discounted Uber One membership is the way to go, complementing well with the Amex Uber Credits through my American Express Platinum Card.

How Does Capital One’s Free Uber One Membership Work?
- Complimentary Uber One membership is only available for select Capital One Credit Cards.
- You can enjoy the benefit through November 14, 2024.
- Depending on your Capital One credit card, you can enjoy the benefit for up to 6 months or more.
- The credit is issued as a statement credit each month, so make sure you use your eligible Capital One card as the payment method for your monthly Uber One membership.
- You must be on a monthly plan and not using any Uber Cash. More below.
- Depending on your Capital One credit card, you also earn 10% cash back on all eligible Uber and Uber Eats purchases.

How to Get Free Uber One Membership With Capital One Credit Cards?
Signing up for a free Uber One membership with Capital One cards is relatively easy. Follow the steps below to ensure you get your free Uber One membership:
- Sign up for an Uber account if you do not have one.
- Download the Uber and Uber Eats apps from the app store on your mobile phone and follow the prompts to create an Uber account.
- If it is your first time using Uber Eats, use the promo code eats-phengl54ue at checkout to receive $20 off your first $25 order at Uber Eats.
- Launch the Uber app on your mobile phone and log in.
- Tap on the Account at the bottom of the screen.
- Find the Wallet on the top and tap on it.
- Scroll down and tap on Add Payment Method or Redeem Gift Card.
- Tap on Credit or Debit Card and save your eligible Capital One credit card information.
- Exit Wallet and make sure you are on the Account screen.
- Find Uber One on the screen and tap on it.
- Tap on Join Uber One.
- On the Confirm screen, make sure your plan is Monthly, and your payment method is the eligible Capital One card you added to the Wallet.
- Important: If you have Uber Cash in your account, make sure that you tap on the Switch and make sure your Uber Cash toggle button is not selected before taping on the Try Now button. See the screenshot below.
- Finally, tap on Try Now to complete your free Uber One enrollment.

- Each month when your Uber One membership is charged to your Capital One card, you will receive a monthly statement credit to cover the Uber One monthly membership cost.

- After that, set a reminder to cancel your membership before the offer’s end date or be charged a full monthly membership price of $9.99. See below.
How Long Does Capital One Uber One Membership Statement Credit Take To Post?
After signing up for an Uber One membership and paying with your eligible Capital One credit card, your Capital One card account will show the pending transaction. Once the transaction is no longer pending and is posted to your account, you will receive the $9.99 statement credit in 9-10 days.

How to Cancel Uber One Membership?
Canceling the Uber One membership is easy and straightforward. The membership will still be valid even if you cancel it before the membership’s end date, and there are no cancellation fees or penalties.
To cancel Uber One:
- Launch the Uber app on your mobile phone and log in.
- Tap on the Account at the bottom of the screen.
- Find Uber One on the screen and tap on it.
- Scroll down until you see Manage membership and tap on it.
- You can change the billing plan or simply end your membership.
