JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is the only Marriott Bonvoy property located inside the Mall of America. It is located on the other side of the Radisson Blu Mall of America, another hotel property that directly connects the mall.

Overall, our stay at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is okay – nothing great and nothing terrible either. Here’s a full review in detail:

    Location

The location of JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is excellent as it offers direct access to the mall. So you can enjoy shopping, dining, and all the attractions, including the Nickelodeon Universe, inside the mall without having to step outside the mall.

    Upgrades

While my Marriott Titanium Elite status was recognized during check-in, the receptionist did not mention room upgrades until I asked her for one.
It’s worth noting that other elite members that stayed at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America received an upgrade up to the Executive Suite, but I wasn’t too lucky. All I got was just an upgrade to a high-floor room with the same bed type and room layout. There’s nothing “suite” about that for the upgrade I received.

    King Guestroom

The guestroom I stayed in at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is suitable, but it leaves a lot to be desired for a JW brand without an elite upgrade.

    Executive Lounge

Executive Lounge at JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America
The Executive Lounge at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America was temporarily closed during my visit. The lounge was still accessible with the room key, and it offered non-alcoholic beverages such as sodas, water, coffee, and tea only throughout the day. You’ll need your room key to access the elevator to get to the Executive Lounge floor and its entry door located on the 15th floor.

While the Executive Lounge was closed, the property offered elite guests a food and beverage credit of $40 per room

    Welcome Amenity

I was offered between 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points or $10 food and beverage credit as part of the elite welcome amenity. I chose the food and beverage credit because it’s worth much more than the points.
I used the $10 food and beverage credit to spend at the onsite restaurant with the $40 food and beverage credit voucher because the Executive Lounge was not fully open.

    Food & Beverage Credit

As mentioned above, Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador elite members can receive a $40 food and beverage credit while the Executive Lounge remains closed.
You can use that $40 food and beverage credit (gratuity is included) for any dining needs at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America. You must present the voucher to the waiter/waitress before settling your dining bills. We used the credit for breakfast at the onsite Cedar + Stone, Urban Table restaurant.

    Complimentary Breakfast

Complimentary breakfast is available for Marriott Bonvoy elite members when the Executive Lounge is open. However, we used the $40 food and beverage credit to spend at the onsite Cedar + Stone, Urban Table restaurant for breakfast because the lounge was closed. The braised short rib hash we both had was delicious.

    Dining

JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America has two restaurants:
We only had breakfast at the Cedar + Stone restaurant, and we ate out at the food court inside the Mall of America the rest of the time. There are so many restaurants in the mall to choose from.

    Resort Fee

There’s no resort fee at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America

    Parking

You can pay the fees to park with JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America:
    • Onsite parking: $18 daily
    • Valet parking: $27 daily

    Housekeeping

The housekeeping service is available, but we did not utilize it because we only stayed 1 night.

    Internet/Wi-Fi

There’s a charge to use the Internet or Wi-Fi at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America. However, it is complimentary for Marriott Bovoy’s elite members.
We did not feel the need to use the Internet while staying at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America because our cell phone’s 5G data was sufficient.

    Late Check-Out

Late check-out is available to Marriott Bonvoy elite members upon request and is subject to availability. I did request for a 2PM late check-out without any problems.

    Bottled Water

Inside the room, complimentary two small bottles of water are provided by the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America
If you are a Marriott Platinum Elite and above, you can access the Executive Lounge for unlimited bottled water and other non-alcoholic beverages.

    Spa

JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America does not have a spa.

    Fitness Center

JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America has a fitness room full of cardio and weight equipment, but we did not use it.

    Swimming Pool

The swimming pool at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is an indoor pool, and it is small. Every time I went to check it out, there were always children in the pool. Understandably, Mall of America is the home to Nickelodeon Universe roller coasters theme park.
