Transferring Capital One Miles From Cash Account to Miles Account

Capital One has both cashback and miles earning cards. Depending on how you value each one, personally, I always want to earn Capital One miles because they provide more flexibility and values for converting those miles to hotel points or airline miles
    The good news is:
    • You can combine Captial One cashback rewards with miles rewards easily.
    • You can move Capital One cashback rewards from a business card to a personal miles rewards card and vice versa.
    • You can perform the transfer online. See below.

Step-by-Step Instructions How to Transfer Capital One Miles From Cash Account to Miles Account

Before you begin the transfer process, it is crucial to understand that this type of transfer is a one-way street, meaning while you can move Capital One cash to Capital One miles account, you cannot move Capital One miles to Capital One cash. For example:
    • You can transfer cash rewards earned through Capital One Spark Cash Plus Business Card to miles earning Capital One Venture X Credit Card account.
    • You can NOT convert miles earned through Capital One Venture X Credit Card to a cash-earning Capital One Spark Cash Plus Business Card account.
When you are ready to transfer, here’s how:
    • Log into your Capital One account online.
    • Click on the Capital One card that you would like to perform the transfer.
    • On the top, under the total rewards you’ve earned, click on the Redeem button.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Move Rewards. See the screenshot below.
    • Select the Capital One card you’d like to transfer the rewards to within the Share Rewards popup.
      • If a card is NOT eligible for transfer, you will see “Not Eligible” in the drop-down list.
    • Simply click on the Next button.
    • Confirm the number of rewards that you wish to transfer, and finally click on the green Share button. You are done!
The transfer process is instant, and your Capital One account is updated immediately with the new total rewards miles.

    • Log into your Capital One account online.
    • Click on the Capital One card that you would like to perform the transfer.
    • On the top, under the total rewards you’ve earned, click on the Redeem button.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Move Rewards. See the screenshot above.
    • Select the Capital One card you’d like to transfer the rewards to within the Share Rewards popup.
      • If a card is NOT eligible for transfer, you will see “Not Eligible” in the drop-down list.

Transferring Capital One Miles to Capital One Cash Rewards

As mentioned above, you can transfer Capital One cash rewards to Capital One miles, but not the other way around.
Capital One does not allow you to share miles with cash rewards, meaning you cannot move rewards from a miles-earning card to a cashback earning card.
In theory, converting Capital One miles to cash does not make sense anyway. Capital One miles are very flexible. You can redeem them for the statement credit to cover purchases like cash or redeem them for transferring to Capital One’s partner loyalty programs

Transferring Capital One Miles to Another Person’s Account

Capital One is very generous for points transfer between your own accounts. In addition, Capital One also allows you to transfer Capital One miles from your account to someone else’s account.
Unlike its competitors, Capital One does not have significant rules and requirements for the person you share Capital One points with.
    • The person does not have to be related to you like a family member, etc.
    • The person does not have to live at the same address as you.
    • The miles transferred do not expire.
    • There is no limit to Capital One miles you can transfer to another person’s account.
    • Only miles earning Capital One card accounts, such as Venture or Spark accounts, are eligible.

How to Transfer Capital One Miles to Someone Else

Currently, you cannot transfer Capital One miles to someone else online because such functionality is not yet available.
You must call Capital One to make such a request. Simply call the phone number on the back of your card and let the agent know your request, s/he will take care of it accordingly. You may be asked for the other person’s account, so be prepared for that.
