Ever since Gary at View From The Wing reported that Chase will honor an error in the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card term in regards to the automatic five (5) elite night credits, I have been watching my World of Hyatt account like a hawk because I really needed those 5 elite nights to meet a Hyatt Milestone Reward without any more upcoming stays this year.

Today, to my surprise, Hyatt emailed me that I had reached the milestone reward and prompted me to make a reward selection.

    World of Hyatt Official Email

December 22, 2021 – The World of Hyatt has officially sent out emails to affected card members with regards to the 5 elite night credits that were incorrectly displayed.
Here’s the content of the email. The subject of the email is: “We corrected an error on your
    account.”

Recently, we incorrectly displayed a benefit of 5 tier qualifying night credits on your card benefits page. We apologize for the mistake.

We corrected the error and also added a one-time 5 tier qualifying night credits award to your World of Hyatt loyalty account.

Hyatt & Chase Started Depositing 5 Elite Night Credits For World of Hyatt Business Card Customers

Suppose you applied for the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card from the beginning of October up until Chase fixed an error in the card’s offer term below. In that case, you should start seeing 5 elite night credits deposited to your World of Hyatt account.
Here’s the written term that should not be on the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card:

5 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits Each Calendar Year: You, as the primary cardmember, will receive 5 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits in your World of Hyatt account within 8 weeks of your World of Hyatt Credit Card account open date. Every calendar year after your first year, you will receive 5 Tier-Qualifying Night credits within 8 weeks of January 1.

To be clear, complimentary automatic 5 elite night credits are the benefit of the consumer Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card. But somehow, Chase mistakenly included this benefit in the Business Hyatt card’s term. Gary spotted the error and reached out to Chase, and Chase fixed the error and decided to honor it by issuing the following statement:

We are awarding all customers who acquired the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card during the time period the benefit that was displayed with a one-time courtesy award of five Tier-Qualifying Night credits toward 2021. Affected cardmembers will be notified by Chase and can expect to see the award reflected in their account in the next few weeks.

While I do not know the timeline that Chase referred to as “next few weeks,” today I successfully received the 5 elite night credits due to this (see the screenshot below). I applied for the card a few days after being launched in October.

    UPDATE:

    • The World of Hyatt has officially sent out emails to affected card members with regards to the 5 elite night credits that were incorrectly displayed. See the email’s content above.
    • I received a response back from that Chase department. They simply stated that the World of Hyatt business credit card does not have the 5 elite nights benefit, which we already knew. So the fact that I received the 5 elite nights due to the mistake in the card’s offer terms has nothing to do with reaching out to Chase or not.

For what is worth, I grew impatient and reached out to Chase via the online secured message and quoted the above statement that Chase issued as an affected cardmember. I received a response that my message had been forwarded to a different department. I have not received a response from that department, but the five elite nights already showed up on my World of Hyatt account. So I am not really sure whether you should reach out to Chase or wait it out. I expect to hear back from that department soon and update this post accordingly.

    Conclusion

Therefore, if you applied for the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card a little over the October month launch and you were approved for the card, you will be getting 5 elite night credits deposited into your World of Hyatt account. I do not have the timeline, but since I recently received my 5 elite nights, yours should be coming too. Keep checking your Hyatt account, and good luck!
