The Plaza Premium Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the first Plaza Premium Lounge that opened in America. We did a quick visit to the Plaza Premium Lounge after our favorite Centurion Lounge visit at DFW.

In short, we were not impressed at all by this Plaza Premium Lounge at DFW airport. Here are the details:

    Getting In

You can gain access to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in a couple ways:
    • American Express Platinum Card or American Express Business Platinum Card with a valid boarding pass with any airline.
    • Priority Pass Select Membership with a valid boarding pass with any airline. Please note that starting July 1, 2021, worldwide Plaza Premium Lounges will no longer participate in Priority Pass Select.
We used our American Express Business Platinum Card and showed our boarding passes to get access to the Plaza Premium Lounge at DFW.
Otherwise, the lounge access fee is $45 per 3 hours and $22 per 1 hour. But seriously, it’s not worth paying to get into this lounge at all!

    Food & Drinks

The food served at the time was some croissants, sandwiches, salad, and a few other cold items. The only hot item was the vegetarian soup. I tried the soup and the chicken salad croissant sandwich but they did not taste good at all. So I would not recommend those!

For drinks, they have a shelf full of liquor but there’s an extra charge! So if you want an alcoholic drink, be sure to pick the regular kind and avoid the ones on their shelf. It was nice though that the attendant let us know about the surcharges when we tried to order the expensive liquor to mix with our beverages.
Bottled water, regular liquor, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks are complimentary.

    Lounge Seats

The Plaza Premium lounge at DFW airport is really small. You can see the entire lounge from the check-in desk. It’s just one semi-long hallway. I don’t really know how busy can this lounge be, but the seats are good comfortable enough.

    Bathroom

There’s no bathroom inside the Plaza Premium Lounge at DFW. You have to use the airport bathroom outside the lounge.

    Conclusion

I honestly do not know how this lounge can survive! I was intrigued by the fact that this is the first Plaza Premium Lounge that was opened in the United States, and I had a better experience with Plaza Premium Lounges in Asia.
For the price they charge to get into the lounge, you are better of use that money and sit at a nice airport restaurant or bar instead. We got in free through my American Express Business Platinum Card. Overall, I do not recommend the Plaza Premium Lounge at DFW airport to anyone that wants to experience the airport’s lounge life!
