In fighting with COVID-19 and tourism, Cambodia is imposing strict
financial requirements for all foreign visitors entry to the Kingdom. The Ministry of Health
has issued various charge fees such as COVID-19 test, quarantine, treatment
services including transportation, meals and lodging fees that each foreign
visitor must pay as a deposit upon arrival at the port of entry in order to
enter Cambodia.

This is by far one of the craziest entry requirements that I have ever seen
since the pandemic of the Coronavirus. The said entry requirement takes effect
since June 11, 2020 and has no end date yet at this point.

Cambodia COVID-19 Pricing Policy For Foreign Visitors Entering the Kingdom
In order to enter Cambodia starting June 11, 2020 – All foreign
nationals visiting the Kingdom during the COVID-19 outbreak must be aware of
the following fees upon arrival at the port of entry.

Health Insurance & Deposit

Upon arrival to Cambodia, all foreign visitors must show their health
insurance with the minimum coverage of $50,000 USD. -
Make deposit by cash or credit card of $3,000 USD with designated
banks at the point of entry.
The deposit will be deducted for payment and services during the
implementation of this policy by the Ministry of Health. All prices are in US
Dollars.

You are required to take COVID-19 test upon arrival in Cambodia. While waiting
for the result of your test, the following payment fees apply:

Transpiration from airport to designed hotel or quarantine centers –
$5/person one-way. -
COVID-19 Test (Collection and sending specimen, lab and result) –
$100/time per person. -
Designated hotels and quarantine centers –
$30/day per person. -
Three times meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) –
$30/day per person.
If your flight or the mean of your transport into Cambodia has a positive
COVID-19 passenger, you are required for the following payment fees for the
14-day quarantine at designed hotels or quarantine centers:
- Transport – $5/person one-way.
- Designated hotels and quarantine centers –
$30/day per person. - COVID-19 Test (Collection and sending specimen, lab and result) – $100/time per person.
- 3 times meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) – $30/day per person.
- Laundry and cleaning services – $15/day per person.
- Medical services (3 health staff for period of quarantine in each center)
– $6/day per person. - Security services (2 persons) – $3/day per person.
Payment fees for consultation and treatment of positive COVID-19 patient in
public hospitals:

$5/person one-way. - COVID-19 test (4 times minimum) – $100/time per person.
- Room charge in hospital – $30/day per person.
- Treatment fee including medicines – Max $150/day per person.
- 3 times meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) – $30/day per person.
- Laundry service – $15/day per person.
- Emergency – Follow the existing fee tariff of hospital.
- Consultation and treatment of existing chronic diseases of COVID-19
patient – Follow the existing fee tariff of hospital. - Funeral – $1500/person.

- COVID-19 test – $100/time per person.
- Issue health Certificate – $30/time per person.

As you see, these charge fees amidst the COVID-19 for foreign nationals
arriving in Cambodia is insane. Cambodia has expressed interest in having
direct flight between United States and Cambodia
in order to boost the country’s economy and tourism, but these strict
financial fees requirement during the outbreak of the COVID-19 traveling will
discourage foreign travelers to go and visit the Kingdom. If you have travel
plans to Cambodia, I’d suggest that you pause your trip for awhile until you
know when this regulation is lifted or when it is safe to travel again.
