Aegean Airlines is the Greek carrier flagship and is a member of the Star Alliance. Its frequent flyer miles program is called the Miles + Bonus. What a silly name!

From time to time, Aegean Airlines do sell their miles at a discounted price, making it a great alternative miles program to redeem for Star Alliance flights. I do not recommend anyone accrue Aegean miles, but do watch for when they have purchase miles promotion that creates opportunities to redeem for a premium class cabin on Star Alliance flights. Buy Aegean miles and burn them with good use in mind!

Aegean does pass on high fuel surcharge fees, so keep that in mind and use the ITA Matrix Airfare Search tool to determine the surcharge fees. The good thing is you can book Star Alliance flights using Aegean miles online. You can also view award availability to see how many miles are needed and surcharges online even you have 0 miles in your Aegean account. However, you cannot view the flight schedule and airline unless you have sufficient miles for that particular flight.
