Easy 1,000 IHG Rewards Club Points Through IHG Accelerate 2018, Expires July 31

I stumbled upon on this by accident. When I was looking at my IHG account activities, I saw that I received 1,000 IHG Rewards Club points for "Redemption" I didn't realize what that was for until I went to look at My IHG Accelerate 2018 promotion for May 1 - July 31 this quarter, it shows that I have completed a task and the task says the following:

1,000 Earn When You Redeem
You earned your points, now use them! Redeem your points for anything, from a digital download to a Reward Night, and you’ll earn 1,000 bonus points.

According to the terms:
Number of bonus points listed above will be awarded after you make redemption for a Reward Night, merchandise, gift cards, digital download or other redemption experience. Must make your redemption and consume the redemption (includes Reward Night) - between 1 May 2018 and 31 July 2018 (both dates inclusive).

According to my account activities, it shows that I earned that 1,000 IHG points for "Redemption" on the same date that I redeemed points for a Crowne Plaza property in Australia for 2019. So I have not really "consumed" the reward night's redemption and the stay date does not even fall between the May 1st and July 31st, 2018. All I did was redeeming 30,000 IHG points on the Crowne Plaza hotel in Australia, which I ended up canceling a week later but the 1,000 IHG points remain in my account.

1,000 IHG points are not a lot, but this is a quick and easy 1,000 IHG points earning opportunity. Plus if you have completed a few tasks stated in the Accelerate promotion and this is one task that's needed to unlock the "Achievement Bonus", you will be all set without spending a single IHG point on any redemption.

Therefore, since it is still not July 31, 2018 yet, check your IHG Accelerate 2018 here and see if you have a similar task. If so, you can quickly redeem a property using IHG points and then cancel after the bonus points get deposited. Award nights redemption comes with free cancellation up until 1 or 3 days prior to check-in date, so you can cancel and receive your points back.

We have added this to the Points Promotions section in one spot!
