[CONFIRMED] I received an email from Wyndham a day after the call. Wyndham provides me a code and instruction to claim the 500 Wyndham bonus points as a result of the call.
I had to call Wyndham rewards customer service and sure enough after the call, she wanted to transfer me to a “discounted vacation offer” plus 500 Wyndham points for being qualified and listening to the offer. I knew it was a timeshare presentation offer, but for the sake of this blog post, I went ahead and listened to the deal to test it out. 500 Wyndham points are not many, but if you need to top up your account for free, this will just take around 15 minutes of your time of the day on the phone listening and talking.

The agent was courteous and introduced herself to me. I started asking right away about the 500 Wyndham points. She asked for my name and email address for the 500 Wyndham points for just listening and being eligible for the deal. Then she started asking about my marital status, income, and have I ever attended Wyndham timeshare presentation in the last 6 months. What sounded more interesting was that she asked whether I have listened to the deal and earned 500 Wyndham points before in the last 90 days. I said no to both questions. But that got me to think that every 90 days, you can earn 500 Wyndham points for just listening then? That sure will come in handy if I ever get short on my Wyndham points for an award night.
Moving forward, it’s all about the sales pitch and the offers. She mentioned a few destinations such as California, Florida, Park City Utah, Las Vegas, Austin Texas, etc. and made me pick one that I am likely to vacation at. She ended up making 3 offers to me because after each offer, I courteously declined each offer. Honestly though, each offer was really tempting to say the least and here they are:
- 4 Days/3 Nights at 3-5 stars hotel/resort.
- Must attend a 2 hours timeshare presentation.
- First Offer: $229 + 30,000 Wyndham Rewards Points
- 30,000 Wyndham points are two free night stays at any Wyndham hotels and resorts in the world. The great use of those points is the all-inclusive Wyndham properties on points. Nevertheless, I declined.
- Second Offer: $199 + 30,000 Wyndham Rewards Points OR $200 American Express gift card + $100 in rebate to use at any Wyndham properties.
- As tempting as that sounded with the $300 money, my mind was still all over the 30,000 Wyndham points, but I still declined.
- Third Offer: $159 + $200 American Express gift card + $100 in rebate to use at any Wyndham properties.
- She mentioned that the last offer is typically for the Wyndham Platinum Elite members. Truthfully, that last offer is the worst because no points offer. I value 30,000 Wyndham points more than just $300 when I am able to maximize Wyndham points to their potentials by staying at nice expensive hotels in the world or all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Bahamas, etc.

Hi, what was the subject line and address used for the points email? I've listened to two of these offers this year (as recent as 12/22) and never saw any emails. I've contacted Wyndham and they weren't much help.
We DID take advantage of the 4 Days/3 Nights + 15,000 points back in 2018 and traveled to Anaheim so we could visit Disneyland. The timeshare was a WorldMark location and it was a very nice deal but we said "no thanks" after the two-hour presentation and went on our way.
Did the Wyndham rep let you know that you will be receiving 500 Wyndham points before transferring you to the timeshare department?
The email I received back in 2018 when I did the offer had the subject line "Your Action is Required to Claim Your Wyndham Rewards Points." It's from [email protected]
"As a token of our appreciation for your time, we are giving you 500 Wyndham Rewards points. These points can be used toward free nights at more than 8,000 hotels and resorts worldwide, or you can redeem them for other travel related or retail deals. Your Points Pack activation code xxxxxx"
